A position (Postdoctoral Researcher or Assistant Professor) is immediately available in a stem cell and immunology research lab (Lili Jing, Principal Investigator) at Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Pharmacy in Shanghai, China.
The primary focus of the lab is to study the production and myeloid differentiation of the hematopoietic stem cells. We utilize cell lines and the zebrafish genetic system to clarify the developmental pathways subverted in human leukemias and other hematological disorders, aiming to identify novel treatment strategies. To achieve these goals we combine high-throughput screening, high-resolution imaging and bioinformatics approaches, and through collaboration with experts in multidisciplinary fields.
We are seeking a highly motivated Ph.D. level researcher, working on one of the following areas:
(1) Biological and chemical signaling that regulate the differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells into myeloid lineages.
(2) Epigenetic regulation and therapy in acute myeloid leukemia.
(3) Applying zebrafish model for personalized medicine (such as generating human diseases and xenograft screening of different cancers)
Individuals with experience in genetics, signal transduction, stem cells, chemical biology or developmental biology will be preferred. Experience with zebrafish genetic models or innate immune signaling is highly desirable.
Candidates must have a doctoral degree or equivalent, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Shanghai Jiaotong University offers superb research facilities with outstanding access to cutting-edge equipment and established networks for collaborations. Shanghai is a vibrant city in China with world-class cultural institutions, walkable neighborhoods, and culinary adventures.
