The College of Health Related Professions at the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Professor – Tenure Track in the Medical Informatics Program. Brief Description of Duties
Teach graduate level courses in the Medical Informatics Program.
Advise/mentor graduate students.
Participate in Medical Informatics Program related activities.
Participate in college and university center-wide governance and committees.
Engage in scholarly activities and publications.
Provide assistance and support to CHRP faculty in online course development.
Coordinate the Medical Coding Certificate Program.

All successful candidates must undergo various background checks, maintain credentials required for continued employment and adhere to the SUNY-DMC-UHB Principals of Behavior. Clinical Faculty and Allied Health Professionals must receive and maintain Medical Board authorization.
An earned doctorate degree in Medical Informatics or closely related discipline.
Three (3) years of fulltime experience in the professional discipline.
Experience in instructional design for distance learning.
Classroom teaching experience.
Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills.
Completed PhD degree or progress to the degree in Medical Informatics or closely related discipline.
Demonstrated research experience in the area(s) of expertise.
