Position Summary
The University at Buffalo School of Nursing invites applicants for a full time (12 month) clinical faculty appointment to coordinate, lead, and teach in the DNP Adult/Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) Program. National Certification as an ANP or AGNP is mandated by CCNE accreditation and is a requirement for this position. The AGNP Program Coordinator is required to comply with State, University, Clinical Agency, and professional regulations and requirements.

The position encompasses teaching, scholarship, and service as they are reflected in the following responsibilities:

  • Adheres to and role models professional advanced practice nursing standards and ethics
  • Maintains clinical nursing expertise and certification
  • Leads and manages the DNP AGNP program including assisting with outreach and recruitment efforts that support and promote program growth and development
  • Teaches didactic online and in-classroom graduate level courses and mentors students in their scholarship
  • Collaborates with graduate faculty and staff in planning, designing, developing, and implementing current and innovative classroom, laboratory, simulated, and practical learning experiences
  • Facilitates and ensures safe, quality, interdisciplinary, evidence-based patient-centered care that is culturally sensitive, competent, ethical, and compassionate throughout students practical, classroom, online, and simulated learning experiences
  • Collaborates with graduate faculty in interviewing prospective AGNP students, and in student admission decision making
  • Advises students and assigns graduate faculty students advisement responsibilities
  • Serves as a resource for course faculty and MS/DNP students in regard to student academic issues and concerns
  • Contributes to new nursing knowledge through scholarship activities and student mentoring
  • Provides service through participation on School of Nursing and University wide committees as well as active membership in professional local, national, and international organizations

Minimum Qualifications
PhD or DNP as an Adult/Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. National certification as an ANP or AGNP as well as New York State licensure as an ANP is required. At least 3 years of experience as an ANP/AGNP. Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills with ability to work as an interdisciplinary healthcare team member are essential. Must maintain clinical practice in specialty area.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience teaching at the DNP level, along with an established record of research and scholarship activity.
