Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, School of Health Professions, is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time 12 month faculty position. We are searching for a candidate who has clinical and teaching experience, an academic doctorate (PhD, ScD, EdD), and an emerging or established research agenda with the capacity to engage in funded clinical or translational research. Candidates should be licensed or license-eligible to practice physical therapy in New Jersey. Candidates with expertise in any clinical area will be considered, with preference given to those who have expertise in foundational physical therapy skills, exercise science, neuroscience, pediatrics, research, or medical screening/differential diagnosis. The selected individual will participate in teaching, research, service, and student advisement.
The DPT Program is a 3 year professional physical therapy program designed to prepare entry level graduates who will function competently and creatively as members of a team of health professionals in a dynamic health care environment. The program’s primary mission is to educate students to become generalist physical therapists engaged in contemporary practice with faculty and students committed to humanistic principles through education, scholarship, service and practice. The program has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1990. The DPT was accredited in 2006. The DPT- South Program is located in Blackwood, a suburban location in southern New Jersey that is convenient to metropolitan Philadelphia and the Jersey shore.
