Position Summary
The Talal lab is part of the Department of Medicine in the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences located in the Clinical Translational Research Center (CTRC) on UB’s downtown campus is recruiting for a Project Director/Scientific Writer. The candidate will assist in all aspects of the Liver Center of Western New York.

Coordinates and manages all aspects of the assigned project and assigned personnel ensuring high quality products. Provides coordination of complex research studies.

Researches, writes and edits research proposals, scientific professional publications, specialist scientific and technical journals, and the general media.

Understands complex scientific information, theories and practices.

Writes about topics in clear, concise and accurate language.

Collaborates with participating physicians, ancillary departments, other investigators and sponsors.
Leads scientific writing, research, and department projects efficiently and timely.

Communicates on-going project status, potential issues, and timelines to Dr. Talal.

Plans, organizes, and manages all aspects of assigned retrospective, outcome and prospective projects, and key deliverables.

Leads and manages the efforts of all key cross-functional departments to perform all projects related activities according to project milestones/timelines in a manner consistent with the stated project timelines and ethical transparent business practices.

Discusses the cultivation of any identified opportunities or roadblocks to the successful completion of the project.

Performs scientific investigation of content to support grants, journal activities, and other materials related to the support of the department.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
PhD required.

Minimum of 5 years of health-related experience preferred.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Excellent prioritization capabilities required.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with scientific writing required.

Prefer candidates with knowledge in biology, biotech, biochemistry, psychology, addiction medicine, liver diseases, or related fields.
