The School of Health Sciences at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan invites applications for a full-time, tenure track appointment with rank and salary commensurate with experience, to begin August 15, 2017. Candidates with a doctorate and evidence of experience in clinical chemistry or medical microbiology are especially encouraged to apply. The new faculty member will teach, coordinate clinical experiences, participate in student recruitment and retention, collaborate in continuous academic program refinement, maintain involvement in professional organizations, establish a line of peer-reviewed research and/or scholarship, and provide service to the school, university, and communities of practice.
The School of Health Sciences serves over 2400 undergraduate, masters, doctoral, and post-professional students through a singular model of advancing community-engaged translational relationships, connecting theory to best practices in four thematic areas. Interdisciplinary Health – our undergraduate program in health sciences offers concentrations in nutrition, holistic health, and pre-health professions, while the applied health sciences program offers degree completion opportunities for health specialized associate degree holders. Minimum requirements include, three years of clinical experience, certification in Medical Laboratory Science (ASCP) or Medical Technology (ASCP), and pursuit or attainment of a terminal academic degree (e.g. PhD, DSc). Candidates who are ABD and near completion will be considered if they can demonstrate evidence of completing degree requirements by August 15, 2017.
