Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Associate Director is the academic and administrative leader of the School of Nursing at Kean Ocean and is responsible for managing all program activities. The Associate Director is based at the Kean Ocean campus and assists in the administration of the Nursing Program at Kean Ocean; works with the Executive Director on new program creation and to develop and implement school policies and procedures; supervises University and School policies on office hours, time and attendance, student evaluation of courses, syllabi creation/submission, class cancellations and reporting; acts with the authority of the Executive Director; and does related work as required. In particular, the Associate Director will have the lead responsibility of developing a joint Generic BSN program between Kean University and Ocean County College. The Associate Director may be required to teach two in-load courses each semester (spring and fall) in addition to assigned managerial duties and responsibilities. This position is located at the Kean Ocean campus in Toms River, New Jersey. Travel will be required to the Union campus and other locations as needed.
Qualifications: Doctorate degree and a valid Registered Nurse license in the State of New Jersey is required. A minimum of three years of experience in academic and/or clinical leadership roles; certification in a clinical nursing specialty; and experience with Generic BSN programs or pre-licensure programs is preferred. Candidate must have the ability to travel. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
