Instructor

The Department of Physiology & Biophysics, Howard University College of Medicine, Washington, D.C. – USA is seeking an Instructor level faculty member with a Ph.D. in physiology or a related field. Responsibilities will include course coordinator activities as well as didactic lectures, laboratories, and small group active-learning sessions for undergraduate, graduate, dental and medical physiology courses.

The successful candidate is expected to have at least two years of postdoctoral research experience. While no specific research focus is required; current areas of departmental research include cardiovascular, endocrine and neuro-physiology. Candidates demonstrating the ability to develop an independent, extramurally funded laboratory will be considered for promotion to Assistant Professor within 2-3 years. The position is to be filled during the Academic Year 2017-2018.

Associate/Assistant Professor

One tenure-track faculty position in Endocrine Physiology at the Assistant/Associate Professor level is available in the Department of Physiology & Biophysics, Howard University College of Medicine, Washington, D.C. – USA. A minimum of 4-5 years of post-doctoral experience and a good publication record is required. The candidate is expected to lead an independently funded research program that can coordinate with on-going College of Medicine/departmental research. A research focus in diabetes is preferred but other aspects of endocrine research may be considered. A competitive initial salary will be provided. Teaching within the College of Medicine’s curricula will be required as needed and in keeping with the candidate’s readiness. The position is to be filled during the Academic Year 2017-2018.
