Medical Instructor
Division of Physical Therapy, Duke University

The Doctor of Physical Therapy Division (DPT) at Duke University announces the opening of a full-time, non-regular rank medical instructor position. This position is best suited for a highly motivated, doctoral-trained licensed physical therapist with a diverse clinical background. As a medical instructor, this individual will work with regular rank faculty in assisting practice and non-practice based courses within the DPT curriculum. The position requires full-time teaching assistantship and an interest in improving knowledge dissemination to our talented student body.


  • Clinical or academic doctorate;
  • Licensed physical therapist in the state of North Carolina;
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with a variety of faculty;
  • Interest in teaching;
  • A diverse clinical background.

Technical Skill Requirement:

  • Proficient use of dedicated software such as MS Word, Excel, or statistical software;
  • Understanding of pedagogy;
  • Willingness to support faculty in teaching and preparatory endeavors.


  • Providing lab assistantship;
  • Providing teaching support in lecture settings;
  • Pedagogical support for faculty and curricular staff.

The position is full time, 12 month appointed position.
