The Department of Health Management and Policy in the College of Public Health seeks applicants for the position of Associate Professor in the Clinical Title Series. The responsibilities include the following:

Teaching:
  • Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses including didactic, experiential and practice-based courses focused on rural public health, including areas such as epidemiology, health promotion, program planning and evaluation, and policy analysis.
  • Utilize experiential learning methods by incorporating case studies, guest lectures from rural practitioners, and service-learning opportunities within rural communities.
  • Instruction may also be provided in rural public health settings, in health departments or clinics, or settings that deliver public health services.
  • Mentor and advise students, providing guidance on career paths in rural public health.
  • Demonstrate multi-disciplinary collaboration to be evaluated based on feedback and testimonials, successful career progression of mentees, and formal mentorship roles.
  • Collaboration evidence will include joint publications, collaborative grants, and interdisciplinary project outcomes.
Service to Profession/Clinical Practice:
  • Maintain a strong connection to current public health practice in rural settings through ongoing collaborations with local and state health departments, community-based organizations, and other public health partners.
  • Participate in applied research projects that address pressing public health issues in rural communities.
  • Provide technical assistance and consultation to rural public health practitioners.
  • Create a proactive, high-impact program that provides rural public health settings with relevant, state-of-the-art informational content
  • Contribute to the multi-functional land-grant mission of the department through outreach and engagement efforts with community stakeholders.
  • Develop and contribute to grant proposals to secure funding for initiatives focused on rural public health.
Service:
  • Serve on university and professional committees related to public health practice and rural health.
  • Advocate for policies and programs that improve health outcomes in rural communities.
