The Ohio State University College of Public Health is searching for one or more well-qualified candidates for a tenure-track faculty position in Health Behavior and Health Promotion.

We are interested in candidates with a focus on community-based intervention research, particularly in areas such as tobacco control, cancer control, drug and alcohol prevention, maternal-child health, sexually transmitted diseases, or obesity prevention; or who have an interest in the evaluation of community health programs, use of social media for health communication, environmental or policy initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in one of the above areas plus a population focus such as early childhood, adolescence, or health equity. Candidates must possess the potential for developing independent research funding as well as collaborating with existing research initiatives.

Candidates are also expected to demonstrate the potential for high-quality teaching and mentoring of public health students. Training or experience teaching broad based courses in social and behavioral science applications to public health problems is particularly desired.

Requirements include a doctoral degree in public health with a focus on social or behavioral science, or in a closely related field with significant public health-relevant training or experience. Rank and salary will be determined by the candidate’s credentials. Applicants must demonstrate evidence of a strong track record of funded research and peer-reviewed publications. The starting date for appointments is open to negotiation.
