The Department of Health Management and Policy in the Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health seeks applicants for a tenure-line position at either the Assistant or Associate Professor level to expand its programs of health services research and policy related to health care inequities, systems science, and population health management. Salary commensurate with experience. The position will be available starting on or after September 1, 2018.

The Dornsife School of Public Health at Drexel University is a CEPH-accredited School of Public Health and recently received a $45 million gift to expand the faculty and build new research and educational programs. With the arrival of Dean Ana Diez Roux in 2014, the School has entered a period of rapid growth. Important themes of the School include improving health in cities, eliminating health disparities, and promoting health in all policies. The School offers ample opportunities for interdisciplinary research and training in population health generally, including an Urban Health Collaborative that provides resources and collaboration for research in population health and maintains strong relationships with local and regional departments of public health, health systems, and federally qualified health centers.

With more than 8,000 employees and 22,000 students, Drexel University is the 16th largest private university in the nation. It includes 10 colleges and 3 schools offering degrees in engineering, architecture, media arts design, business, law, medicine, nursing, and public health, among others. The University’s goal to become "the most civically engaged university in America" drives its work with the City of Philadelphia and diverse community partners.

The Department of Health Management and Policy offers MPH, DrPH and PhD degrees in health policy, health care management and leadership, and health services research. The Department is also home to four research and practice centers: Center for Population Health & Community Impact, Center for Hunger Free Communities, Center for Nonviolence and Social Justice, and Public Health Training Center.

Qualifications:
Candidates should be emerging or established scholars with formal training in health services research and policy and who have an interest in the translation of research to public policy and public health and clinical practices. Candidates should have a record of research, publications, and/or teaching experience in at least one of the following areas: health economics, health services research methods, health policy analysis, implementation science, and/or systems science.

Doctoral candidates who anticipate completion of their degree before September 1, 2018 will also be considered. Candidates for appointment at the Associate Professor level must have a strong record of relevant research, publications, interdisciplinary collaborations, teaching, and extramural funding. Candidates for appointment at the Assistant Professor level must be able to demonstrate a strong potential for accomplishment in these areas. The successful candidate will collaborate in developing research initiatives jointly with other faculty in the department and throughout the Dornsife School of Public Health.

Essential Functions:
This faculty member will teach public health related courses in programs of the Dornsife School of Public Health, advise students, and help to shape the overall educational and research program of the Department of Health Management and Policy.

Supplemental Posting Information:
Please complete the Faculty on-line application and submit your C.V. and cover letter describing your interests, background, and qualifications online.
The search will remain open until filled. For fullest consideration, please apply by December 15, 2017. Questions may be addressed to either of the search committee co-chairs, Alex Ortega, PhD, Professor and Department Chair, ano37@drexel.edu, or Robert Field, PhD, Professor, rif24@drexel.edu.
