The Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, invites applications for a Program Director in the PhD Program. This administrative Director assumes responsibility for providing leadership, guidance and direction for the PhD program.

The PhD in Nursing Program prepares nurses in translational interdisciplinary areas of research for roles as nurse scientists and faculty. The Program Director guides the faculty teaching in the PhD Program to implement the College’s strategic priorities and serves as leader for curriculum development, program evaluation, admissions and progression, and generation of resources for the program, faculty and students. The Program Director maintains excellent communication with the senior administrative team, faculty, students, staff, and college and university stakeholders to support effective and timely decision-making to achieve strategic outcomes.

Applicants must have a degree in Nursing and research doctorate, preferably in nursing. All applicants must have a sustainable program of research, eligible for senior university rank of Associate or Full Professor, with a minimum of three years teaching experience with one of those teaching in a PhD in Nursing Program, and strong academic program administration experience. Applicants must be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse in Oklahoma.

The College of Nursing has multiple relationships with community partners including but not limited to OU Medical Systems, Stephenson Cancer Center, Donald W. Reynolds Center for Geriatric Nursing Excellence, and oversees a Case Management program for a large network of Oklahoman’s receiving care through the state Advantage program.

The College of Nursing is one of seven health-related colleges located at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. The campus is the state’s major educational resource for health professionals in medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, public health and allied health. The Graduate College is the center of advanced study, research, and creative activity in the health sciences. There are excellent opportunities for clinical practice and research with university and clinical partners.
