The Rady Faculty of Health Sciences is searching for a candidate for the position of Rady Chair in Interprofessional Collaborative Practice. The Chair position will be for an initial five-year term, and the holder will be given a tenured or tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department/College within the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences most appropriate given his/her discipline/background; the Chair will also have an affiliation with the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences Office of Interprofessional Collaboration.
The Rady Faculty of Health Sciences consists of the Colleges of Dentistry and School of Dental Hygiene; Medicine; Nursing, Pharmacy; and Rehabilitation Sciences (Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Respiratory Therapy). This full-time position will be focused on interprofessional collaborative practice research and scholarship; and advancing knowledge that will improve the quality of patient care, patient safety, retention of health-human resources, and delivery of cost efficiencies. In addition to research and scholarship, the Chair will provide leadership in the training, educating, and mentoring of future leaders in interprofessional collaborative practice. The Chair will also provide high quality teaching at the undergraduate level and/or teaching and supervision at the graduate level. The Chair will build upon collaborative relationships between educational and practice systems promoting excellence in patient care, quality, and safety. By delivering on these strategic objectives, the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences will become recognized for its leadership and excellence in promoting and facilitating interprofessional collaborative practice and quality of patient-centred care.
The successful candidate will hold a current academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher; have expertise in collaborative practice and interprofessional education; and have an active research program in this area. The successful candidate will have a PhD in a related field and be a licensed health professional, or MD, DMD, PharmD with appropriate training to be a researcher/educator. Rank and salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience. An attractive start-up research fund package will be made available.
