DYNAMIC LEADERSHIP POSITION

PRE-PROFESSIONAL TRADITIONAL BSN/CNL MS PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Georgetown University School of Nursing & Health Studies (NHS) invites applications for a full-time tenure or tenure-line position as the Traditional BSN / CNL MS Pre-Professional Program Director.

As the leader of the Pre-Professional BSN/CNL programs, you will be responsible for:

  • Management, planning and coordination of program operations
  • Implementation and coordination of the curriculum in an on-campus format
  • Supervision, mentoring, evaluation and fostering professional development of program faculty
  • Education and advisement of students
  • Collaboration with faculty and staff colleagues, as well as departmental leadership and academic affairs to ensure outstanding program graduates and effective planning/implementation of future national and international initiatives
  • Enhancement of the program’s reputation and visibility through engagement in relevant university and external professional activities
  • Serving on relevant departmental, school or university committees
  • Fostering a culture of scholarship, inclusivity and civility within the department
  • Academic teaching in area of clinical specialty
  • Engagement in scholarly activities such as research, publications and grant writing.

Qualifications:

  • DNP or PhD required
  • A proven track record of scholarship
  • Evidence of ability to obtain external funding
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Certification as a CNL, advanced practice, or nurse educator preferred
  • Program administration, curriculum development and implementation experience preferred
  • Eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia

Georgetown University has been a leader in nursing education since 1903. The NHS Department of Professional Nursing Practice is situated in an innovative, multidisciplinary school, which also includes four additional academic departments in: Advanced Practice Nursing, Health Systems Administration, Human Science, and International Health. The department houses a traditional BSN program, a Direct Entry to Masters CNL program, and a CCNE accredited post-Masters DNP program. Outstanding resources support faculty research, collaboration, and teaching, and include the O’Neill Family Foundation Clinical Simulation Center, the Office of Research Support and Administration, and the NHS Discovery Center-a teaching and research laboratory.

The BSN/CNL Program Director will be supported in devoting 50% of time to research and other scholarly pursuits.
