MacEwan University has a long-standing history of providing quality nursing education that is relevant and reflective of current nursing practice in the province and across Canada. The university’s Faculty of Nursing includes the Department of Nursing Science, the Department of Psychiatric Nursing, and the Department of Interprofessional Nursing Education and Simulation Learning (DIESL).

DIESL is dedicated to serving front-line multidisciplinary practitioners who strive to improve the health and quality of life for individuals, communities and industries. This department brings together the Centre for Professional Nursing Education and the Clinical Simulation Centre to deliver innovative academic programming. We are leaders in simulation-based learning and continuing education for nurses and other health care professionals. Through partnerships with academic and industry leaders we are expanding interprofessional education and international opportunities for faculty and students.

Applications are invited for a full-time tenure-track appointment in the Department of Interprofessional Education and Simulation Learning, at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2019, subject to final budgetary approval.

Requirements include: minimum of 5 years of clinical experience; a graduate degree in nursing or a related field, preferably at the doctoral level; and active licensure or eligibility for licensure with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta. Preferred candidates will have recent teaching experience in nursing. Experience in post-secondary learning environments, online education, simulation-based learning and/or interprofessional education would be desirable. Candidates should possess enthusiasm for developing research capacity in others, passion for teaching undergraduate and post-graduate nursing students, solid presentation skills, and a strong commitment to contribute to the Department, Faculty and University.
