The College of Medicine & Health Sciences (CMHS), United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a faculty position. Qualified candidates at all levels will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments.
The prospective faculty will have a unique opportunity to become involved in the growth and success of the institution, and most importantly the opportunity to educate and nurture new generations of physicians prepared to meet the 21st-century health care delivery in a rapidly changing world. We seek a candidate to complement and extend the department’s teaching and research mission.
The successful candidate must hold an MD, Ph.D. or a Ph.D. together with a clinically relevant qualification in Physiology.
The candidate must demonstrate strong publication record corresponding to the rank of appointment and be able to maintain an independent internally and externally funded research program. For a junior level of appointment, a minimum of three years of experience in teaching medical physiology and pathophysiology in a US, Canadian, European or the equivalent medical program is required. The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal and team-working skills, and demonstrate the ability to support the Faculty in achieving its educational, research and clinical objectives. Experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs for undergraduate medical students is a requirement. Familiarity with USMLE, MCCEE, and IFOAM will be an advantage.
The College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS) was founded in 1986 with the mission to "improve the health and wellbeing of the UAE population by delivering cutting edge undergraduate and graduate medical education, advanced research and clinical services that meet the best international standards" and is recognized by the UK General Medical Council. English is the language of instruction. The CMHS is housed in a purpose building, a well-equipped and state-of-the-art facility in the oasis city of Al Ain, adjacent to the Hajar Mountains and Oman.
