The College of Health Solutions at Arizona State University is seeking a Clinic Director with a faculty appointment as Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor who will oversee the fiduciary operations of the adult and pediatric speech and language clinic and support the mission of the Speech and Hearing Science Program. The preferred candidate will have clinical experience working with adults in the areas of dysphagia, neurogenic communication disorders including traumatic brain injury, voice disorders, and fluency. Incoming rank of assistant or associate professor will be determined based on prior experience. This is a full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure track appointment which is expected to begin August 1, 2019. Responsibilities include managing clinic operations, providing a variety of diagnostic and rehabilitative services to patients, supervising SLP Masters students in our in-house clinic and off-site placements, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in speech-language pathology or related topics, and participating in clinic/program service activities in the development and/or expansion of services within the clinic and/or the Communication Disorders Master of Science program.

The Speech-Language Pathology Program is housed in a state-of-the-art facility on the main campus of ASU in Tempe Arizona.

The College of Health Solutions (CHS) is dedicated to translating scientific advances into practical interventions to improve health outcomes through education, research and service. We equip students with the knowledge and skills to influence healthier lifestyle choices; develop creative interventions to improve the health of people and populations; analyze and translate large amounts of health data into solutions; and maximize the technology, science, business and application of diagnostics. CHS research programs encompass basic/discovery science, clinical trials, intervention science and measurement of health outcomes. In all cases, CHS faculty use interdisciplinary approaches to address the complex systems that underpin health problems. The college is highly collaborative, transparent and team-oriented with an innovative organizational structure that includes translational teams, affinity networks, and academic programs to improve the health of people and communities.

The current training programs include behavioral health, biomedical diagnostics, biomedical informatics, executive and continuing education, exercise science, health promotion, health sciences, kinesiology, medical studies, nutrition, population health, the science of health care delivery, and speech and hearing science. Our programs are offered at ASU’s Downtown Phoenix, Tempe, West and Lake Havasu campuses, as well as on Mayo Clinic’s Scottsdale campus.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

● Five years experience with University Clinic operations or equivalent
● Graduate degree in Communication Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology (M.S., M.A., or Ph.D.) from an accredited program and university
● Clinical certification in speech-language pathology (CCC-SLP) and be eligible for licensure in Arizona
● Five years of adult clinical experience in speech-language pathology
● Experience in direct clinical supervision of graduate and undergraduate students
● Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and community partners

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Clinical experience working with adults in the areas of dysphagia, neurogenic communication disorders including traumatic brain injury, voice disorders, and fluency.
● Experience providing bilingual services, Spanish/English preferred
● University and/or clinical teaching experience in the areas of voice, TBI, swallowing and medical aspects of speech pathology
