This Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Inclusion and Growth plus (PRODiG+) fellowship program is a designed with two primary goals: (1) increasing the number and share of excellent diverse faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion; and (2) strengthening the pipeline for retention and support of these candidates. The program provides a 2-year mentored research experience eligible to transition to a tenure-track faculty position through an internal promotion process. Job duties during this postdoctoral experience will include:
- Conduct innovative and high-quality research in the field of nursing, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and understanding within the discipline.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals, in collaboration with a senior scientist, and present at academic conferences to disseminate knowledge and engage with the scholarly community.
- Collaborate with faculty members and other researchers within the School of Nursing, as well as interdisciplinary teams across the institution, fostering a collaborative research environment.
- Assist in the development of grant proposals to secure funding for research projects, contributing to the financial sustainability of the research program.
- Occasionally contribute to teaching activities within the School of Nursing, such as guest lectures or seminars, to share expertise with students and enhance their learning experience.
- Engage in ongoing research development activities to stay abreast of advancements in the field of nursing research and enhance research skills and expertise.
- Ensure research activities comply with ethical standards and regulatory requirements, including institutional review board (IRB) approvals and adherence to relevant policies and guidelines.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with colleagues and stakeholders within the School of Nursing and the broader academic and professional community.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to research projects, such as data management, project coordination, and reporting requirements.
These duties encompass the multifaceted responsibilities of a Postdoctoral Associate in a School of Nursing at an R1 public research institution, contributing to the institution’s research mission and fostering excellence in nursing scholarship.
