The Department of Health Services Administration in the School of Health Professions at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) invites applications for a full time, open rank, tenure-track faculty position to begin by Fall of 2024.
Qualifications include expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas: management, organization theory, implementation science, quality improvement, and health care quality and safety. We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in implementation science from an organizational/management perspective. Candidates must have earned a terminal degree in a relevant discipline that qualifies for mentoring students and teaching in our various programs. Candidates at the rank of Assistant Professor or above will be considered. Highly qualified doctoral students who will complete their degree by Spring 2024 will also be considered. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated a strong portfolio or capacity to conduct original research and scholarship. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The selected applicant will join a diverse and vibrant academic community with over 35 full-time faculty members, 5,000+ alumni, and an enrollment of just under 800 students. The department has a solid fiscal foundation and an engaged community of alumni and other practitioners. Department faculty engage in multidisciplinary research programs with faculty from across the academic campus and academic medical center (UAB Medicine).
