The Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Environmental Health at Old Dominion University in the Joint School of Public Health (ODU;

https://www.nsu.edu/Academics/Faculty-and-Academic-Divisions/Joint-School-of-Public-Health ) invites applications for a 10-month full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Epidemiology at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise either in epidemiologic research methods or applied areas of epidemiologic research such as infectious disease, maternal and child health, cancer, and chronic diseases. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an active independent research program, pursue external research funding, teach courses in epidemiology, mentor graduate students, and contribute to the department and school through professional service.
Appointment at the level of Associate Professor requires a record of significant achievements in research, teaching, and service including an independent research program. Assistant Professor applicants must have strong potential for obtaining extramural funding to establish an independent research program.
Responsibilities:
Teaching: Deliver high-quality instruction in introductory and advanced epidemiology courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Research: Develop and maintain an active research program in epidemiology that includes conducting independent research, applying for extramural research funding, collaborating with other faculty, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and mentoring students in research.
Service: Participate in departmental, institutional, and professional service activities, such as serving on committees, mentoring students, engaging with the broader community, and participating in professional organizations.
