The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center is seeking an expert to lead a team of researchers engaged in developing antibody based diagnostics and therapeutics. The candidate is expected to mentor and oversee day to day activities of a team of researchers (Post-Doctoral Fellows, Junior Faculty and Research Technologists) engaged in the development of monoclonal antibodies against several cancer-specific targets. The candidate will be responsible for overall planning of the screening strategies, assay development and pilot testing of therapeutic effects. Additionally, the candidate is expected to develop and write research proposals for funding and lead efforts to compile data and manuscript preparation. The candidate should have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. and a proven record of accomplishment in Hybridoma Technology, antibody screening and characterization, diagnostic assay development and therapeutic screening using cell-based assays. Preference will be given to a candidate with prior experience in the development of cell-surface specific antibodies and characterization of the cognate membrane antigens.
