The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), College of Science (CoS) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, invites outstanding candidates to apply for the position of Senior Lecturer in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
About the Programme
SBS offers a Bachelor of Chinese Medicine Prgramme focuses on Chinese medicine as well as basic western medicine knowledge with the intention to produce Singapore-trained Chinese medicine professionals with in-depth knowledge of regional/local diseases. This is a bilingual course with English and Mandarin as the media of instruction.
The School is engaged in a wide range of research projects, provides Chinese Medicine healthcare services to the community, and seeks to foster modernization of the Chinese Medicine profession and advance Chinese Medicine as a modern science.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching major subjects within Chinese Materia Medica, Internal Medicine of Chinese Medicine, Chinese Medicine Pediatrics, Chinese Medicine Geriatrics as well as other Chinese Medicine subjects.
- Provide high quality TCM consultation and treatment services to patients.
- Supervising students during research projects and clinical internships.
- Conducting TCM courses as part of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) and share TCM knowledge and clinical experiences to registered TCM physicians.
- Delivering educational TCM talks and public run courses to raise awareness in TCM.
- Ensuring fairness and academic integrity in the setting and grading of examination papers.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A registerable or registered qualification with the Singapore TCM Practitioners Board and/or a relevant PhD in Chinese Medicine from a recognised university.
- A minimum of 12 years of clinical experience, with a preferred specialty in Chinese Materia Medica, Pediatrics, Acupuncture, Geriatrics, Oncology, or Pain Management.
- Effectively bilingual (Mandarin and English), with strong computer literacy to manage electronic teaching and clinical systems.
