Job Description

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CNHS) at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) seeks a full-time Associate Dean to begin Fall 2024. TAMIU is a growing university of over 8,000 students located in Laredo, Texas, a vibrant bilingual and bicultural city with a population of about 250,000. For more information, visit www.tamiu.edu. This is a tenure, 12-month, on-campus, position with a combination of administrative and teaching responsibilities. The Associate Dean, under general direction from the Dean, oversees and provides leadership and support to department heads and faculty, within the College, assists the Dean with academic matters and is responsible for quality assurance of administrative matters handled by the college. Duties also include a reduced teaching load of 6 sch per year.

Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate must hold a doctorate in a discipline, or closely related field to the academic programs offered through the CNHS from an accredited institution including Public Health, Clinical Lab Sciences, and Occupational Therapy. We desire candidates who: (a) have a strong record of publications in peer-reviewed journals; (b) have experience in, and an established record of, seeking and securing externally funded grants; (c) experience in developing new programs; (d) working with community and/or healthcare partners; (e) prior administrative and teaching experience in higher education; and (f) tenured at the Associate Professor or Professor academic level from an accredited institution.

We offer competitive salaries and a benefits package including health insurance, retirement benefits, and life insurance. Additional pay is available for summer teaching. Financial support for professional development opportunities, such as attending academic conferences, is also provided. Moving expenses are covered in whole or in part by the university.
