Tenure-Earning: Assistant/Associate Professor Position, Graduate Nursing Department
The Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences (NWCNHS) at Florida International University invites applications for a Tenure Earning or Tenured Faculty position as an Assistant/Associate Professor in the Graduate Nursing Department. The NWCNHS offers baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral programs across Nursing and the Health and Sciences in six professional disciplines. Instructions in state-of-the-art multimedia classrooms are located within FIU's Academic Health Center buildings. In the interdisciplinary research labs, world-class multidisciplinary training enhances students’ clinical skills by focusing on students’ performance in a student-centered environment. In addition, simulation Centers offer a hands-on approach that emphasizes mastery of competencies while promoting a diverse patient-centered education that includes four high-tech OR/Anesthesia simulation stations.
Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in Nursing or a related field (e.g., psychology, public health, biostatistics) from an accredited institution with a strong commitment to teaching, an established program of research (e.g., obtained Principal Investigator federal research funding), and service excellence. The preferred qualifications include a Registered Nurse (RN) license and/or an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the state of Florida upon employment. There are potential college opportunities available for an endowed chair position. The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredits the NWCNHS nursing programs. Faculty may teach across programs, in the classroom, or asynchronous through FIU Online.
