The University of Kentucky College of Nursing invites qualified applicants for this full-time (12-month) position for leadership with some teaching at the University of Kentucky Health Care (UKHC) and the UK College of Nursing.
This position requires an individual to advance collaborative relationships both inside and outside of the organization, in order to increase nursing research capabilities, resources and funding opportunities. This position will provide leadership at the system level for the development, implementation and evaluation of a program of research and evidence-based practice in collaboration with nurses and other health care providers at UKHC that aligns with the nursing strategic plan and supports improved patient outcomes. This position will also provide teaching, advising/mentoring, and leadership for the College and University related to aligning doctoral education and/or bridge initiatives that impact UKHC evidence based care delivery.
The ideal candidate will develop opportunities for system-wide clinical inquiry and scholarship; support nursing staff-led practice inquiries and efforts to develop evidence-based practice; provide mentorship and support for research among professional staff, particularly those seeking graduate degrees; and incorporate interdisciplinary collaboration to generate a rich and robust research culture. The candidate will also be able to provide teaching, advising and mentoring of graduate students; this position will require monitoring projects and academic activity of the research nurse scientist which must be logged on a tracking document; and will collaborate with other nurse researchers within UKHC to coordinate research activities at the system level.
