Qualifications include doctoral degree in Nursing or related discipline, with at least one Graduate Degree in Nursing.

Each candidates must also possess demonstrated leadership and administrative abilities and a record of sustained research with external funding and teaching and administrative experience in Baccalaureate, Master’s and Doctoral programs; excellent written and oral communication skills and skills in collaboration and effective work with others is expected; and, must be currently licensed or eligible for licensure to practice Nursing in the Commonwealth of Virginia (Nurse Practitioner licensure is preferred).

Responsibilities include leadership in Faculty recruitment, development and retention; leadership in specialty course development and implementation; management of overall Departmental functioning, in accordance with University policies and facilitation of Department development and school climate, promoting an integrated academic life for individuals and the School’s community of scholars and an environment that values and fosters multiculturalism.
