The program receives more than 1200 applications per year and accepts only 15%. The School of Nursing offers numerous opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations.
 

The successful candidate is a hands-on, inspirational leader with excellent inter-personal skills ready to develop collaborative relationships with internal and external constituencies and a commitment to shared governance.
 

Responsibilities

  • Manage school resources including operating, foundation, and fee budgets
  • Oversee instructional laboratories
  • Engage in typical faculty responsibilities, which may include teaching 1 course per year, research, service, and grantsmanship and mentor faculty to fulfill these responsibilities.
  • Serve as a member of the college senior leadership team

Minimum Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate; graduate degree in nursing
  • Eligible for tenure
  • Eligible for licensure in Illinois
  • Proven leadership skills in a higher education setting
  • Evidence of successful teaching, research, professional service, and mentoring.
  • Minimum level – Associate Professor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with professional accreditation and credentialing processes
  • Successful administrative, budgetary, and grant experience.
  • Familiarity with online teaching
  •

  • Experience working in a unionized workplace
  • Experience working with tenure track and non tenure track faculty

About the School of Nursing

The School of Nursing has 17 academic faculty, 10 supportive professional staff, and approximately 40 instructors serving approximately 120 graduate students and 450 undergraduate students. The School of Nursing provides the skills necessary to become leaders in delivering patient care in all settings. Through the Nursing B.S. and Nursing RN-B.S. programs, students receive superior training in the physical and social sciences integral to becoming successful nurses. Graduate degrees include the M.S. in Nursing, Post-master's Certificate in Nursing Education and D.N.P. Doctor of Nursing Practice programs.
