The College of Health Sciences invites applications for faculty positions in the Medical Radiography Program.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Department Head, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of a broad range of courses in Medical Radiography within the College of Health Sciences. S/he will evaluate student progress and manage the resources of the learning environment.  The successful candidate will liaise with industry and other educational institutions; participate in industry advisory committees and coordinate, manage and control projects within the specified program area. Faculty members will keep course portfolio documents required for accreditation processes and engage in instructional development/improvement plans. All employees are expected to contribute to professional and community life within the University and beyond.

For Assistant or Associate Professor 

 

Education

 

  • A PhD or Doctorate in Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine (Full Time, On Campus Learning) or PhD or Doctorate in Diagnostic Ultrasound Imaging (Full Time, On Campus Learning) from a reputable, accredited university, recognized by the UDST 
  • A MSc in Medical Radiography or Medical Imaging, Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine or Diagnostic Ultrasound  (Full Time, On Campus Learning) from a reputable, accredited university, recognized by the UDST.
  • A BSc in Medical Radiography or Medical Imaging or Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine or Diagnostic Ultrasound  (Full Time, On Campus Learning) from a reputable, accredited university, recognized by the UDST.
  • International Certification in Imaging Sciences is preferred.

Experience

 

  • Demonstrated record of academic experience and medical radiography practice.
  • Experience in teaching medical radiography at universities.
  • A minimum of three (3) years full-time equivalent recent clinical practice experience.
  • Demonstrated competence with curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated use of diverse and current teaching approaches in the classroom and for practice experiences including the laboratory, simulation, and practicums.
  • Demonstrated ability to use a variety of educational technology and platforms.
  • Demonstrated academic and information literacy skills.
  • Demonstrated record of research experience.

For Lecturer and Senior Lecturer

 

Education 

  • A MSc in Medical Radiography or Medical Imaging, Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine or Diagnostic Ultrasound (Full Time, On Campus Learning) from a reputable, accredited university, recognized by the UDST.
  • A BSc in Medical Radiography or Medical Imaging, Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine or Diagnostic Ultrasound  (Full Time, On Campus Learning) from a reputable, accredited university, recognized by the UDST.
  • International Certification in Imaging Sciences is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years clinical experience, and experience teaching Radiographic or related curricula is required.
  • Demonstrated contribution to the advancement of learning by the leadership of teaching and curriculum development.
  • Candidates must have professional recognition and standing amongst peers; and demonstrate academic subject leadership or academic management.
  • Candidates with an MSc in Medical Radiography/Medical Imaging should have good experience in diagnostic nuclear medicine or diagnostic ultrasound.
  • Experience teaching in an accredited Medical Imaging Science program is preferred.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience in a university.
  • Demonstrated record of research experience.

Other required skills
