    The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at Auburn University, located in Auburn, Alabama is seeking candidates for the position of Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Pathobiology.

    With funding from the NHLBI/NIH, Dr. Mishra’s research group is focused to investigate functional role of committed progenitor cells in the settings of obesity-associated airway inflammation. The aims of current studies include but are not limited to development of the protocol to study (i) signaling pathways of progenitor cell proliferation (ii) differentiation and (iii) to track the progenitor cells by using multi-spectral optoacoustic tomography (MSOT) in obesity associated airway inflammation. The candidate who will accept this position also will be involved in several collaborative studies within the CVM, AU.

    A Ph.D. in biomedical sciences or a related field and 0-5 years of postdoctoral experience is required. Candidates must be very experienced in immunology assays (primary DC and macrophages culture, Flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISPOT, Western blotting etc.), cellular and molecular techniques (qRT-PCR, CHIP-seq, retro- and lentiviral transduction of primary progenitor cells etc), in vitro hematopoietic differentiation assays, methylcellulose colony forming assay. Hands-on experience with transgenic mouse models of experimental asthma, flow cytometry and cell sorting will be considered as a plus.

    The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment; excellent communication skills required. Positions are non-tenure track and are available for a minimum of one year as full-time 12 month appointment with renewal possible but not to exceed four (4) years.
