Primary research responsibilities will be to develop an independent program of research in the areas listed above that dovetails with and expands upon the expertise represented among current faculty. It is expected that the successful candidates will both lead their own research efforts and collaborate with other faculty as co-investigators on new grant initiatives. Teaching responsibilities will include teaching courses within the PhD or MPH programs in Epidemiology. Advising masters, doctoral and post-doctoral students is also expected.

The Division provides a rich and collaborative environment for the investigation of cardiovascular disease and related areas, in one of the largest Academic Health Centers in the U.S. Current Division research in cardiovascular epidemiology includes a robust blend of observational studies (e.g., ARIC, MESA, CARDIA) and interventional investigations (e.g., Ask About Aspirin) aimed at improving public health and engaging a multidisciplinary integration of epidemiology, biology, and behavioral science. The Division also has a long standing institutional training grant that supports pre- and post-doctoral training in cardiovascular epidemiology and prevention.
