The University at Buffalo https://nursing.buffalo.edu/School of Nursing invites applicants for a Undergraduate Clinical Coordinator position. This is a part-time appointment.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifies potential adjunct professors for clinical courses for the Assistant Dean
  • Identifies potential student learning experiences in clinical/practicum sites
  • Conducts site visits to clinical sites with adjunct faculty each semester and with other clinical faculty as needed
  • Prepares orientation documents in UB Learns for all students enrolled in clinical courses and tracks student completion
  • Verifies clinical clearance records for students prior to beginning of each course including CPR, TB, annual health clearance, and influenza and communicates to course clinical coordinator
  • Participate in student, adjunct faculty, and DEU orientations
  • Assist course clinical coordinator to assign students to each clinical agency
  • Work with course coordinator/faculty to plan for unit closures or other events that disrupt clinical practicum activities
  • Work collaboratively with Administrative Assistant to prepare documents to secure student clearances for participation in mental health facilities and access to respective clinical agency EMRs
  • Attends meeting at clinical affiliation agencies as required
  • Distributes agency specific evaluation forms to students and faculty
  • Collects end-of-course clinical evaluation, validates all evaluations are complete, and submits to Student Services for placement in student record
  • Tracks the number of and outcome of the following: student – faculty contracts, miss and near misses, incident reports, and frequency of student assignment to DEU versus Traditional clinical. Compiles and tracks data and reports to UG Program Committee.
  • Assist course clinical coordinator and Clinical Lab Coordinator to plan/implement on-campus evidence-based / QSEN lab activities Assist Course Clinical Coordinator with preparation of and administration of med calculation exams, provide remediation as needed
  • Meets with clinical faculty and student to review student/faculty contract
  • Conduct DEU debriefing with students and nurses in agencies that do not currently conduct a debriefing
  • Creates clinical rotation schedules with input from course clinical coordinator and assistant dean
  • Participates in supervision of adjunct faculty in clinical settings
  • Other duties as assigned
