Indiana University seeks a director to lead the Center for Interprofessional Health Education and Practice (CIPHEP), which seeks to educate professionals to improve health through high-quality, team-based care.
The CIPHEP is the result of the University Clinical Affairs Council’s (UCA) shared vision to address the growing need to implement, support, and evaluate interprofessional health education and practice. Key partners in this work include faculty, staff, and students from the Indiana University’s schools of dentistry, nursing, medicine, rehabilitation sciences, optometry, public health (Indiana University and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis campuses), social work as well as Butler University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and Purdue University College of Pharmacy. Their groundwork and longstanding partnerships facilitate interprofessional education for health profession students and position Indiana University to be a national leader in interdisciplinary education.
This position is ideal for a transformational leader who can build on existing strengths and work collaboratively with the leadership of different schools and centers. The individual selected for this position will:
- Create a curriculum that involves high performance education – high quality, efficient, cost effective; a nexus for bringing health schools together
- Facilitate cataloguing IPE experiences in the real world that schools can select for their students
- Serve as a catalyst and resource for schools
- Facilitate/coordinate training related to topics such as diversity, professionalism, and cultural competency
Minimum qualifications include:
- At least 5 years of demonstrated leadership, administrative and team building experience
- A professional background in Dentistry, Health & Rehabilitation Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, Optometry, or Social Work
- Experience working in a large healthcare system and/or hospital
- Doctorate or terminal degree
A background in interprofessional health education and practice would be preferred.
IUSM is committed to being an institution that not only reflects the diversity of the learners we teach and the patient populations we serve, but also pursues the values of diversity, equity and inclusion that inform academic excellence. We desire candidates who enhance our representational diversity, as well as those whose work contributes to equitable and inclusive learning and working environments for our students, staff, and faculty. IUSM strives to take an anti-racist stance, regularly evaluating and updating its policies, procedures, and practices to confer equitable opportunities for contribution and advancement for all members of our community. We invite individuals who will join us in our mission to advance racial equity to transform health and wellbeing for all throughout the state of Indiana.
