Stockton University seeks applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Registered Nurse, tenure track, beginning September 2019. Stockton’s Nursing Program has traditional and accelerated BSN programs, hybrid MSN, Post Master’s Certificate and Doctoral of Nursing Practice programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching courses, seminars and tutorials, and supervising independent studies in Nursing and the General Studies curriculum.
  • Serving as preceptor to students, as necessary.
  • Participating in scholarship and creative activities as appropriate to the discipline.
  • Providing service to the university, community, and profession.
  • Performing other duties under the direction of the Program Coordinator, Dean of the School of Health Sciences and/or the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
  • Demonstrate, through past accomplishments and actions, the ability to support Stockton University’s diversity commitment and strong student-centered vision and mission.

Required Qualifications:

  • Evidence of a plan for completion of an earned professional or research doctorate degree within three years.
  • Eligibility to practice as a registered nurse in the State of New Jersey.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience providing direct care for the mental health population.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Earned professional or research doctorate.
  • Experience teaching psychiatric/mental health nursing at the undergraduate level.
  • National certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.
  • Participation in scholarship as appropriate to the discipline.

Rank and salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience.
