The School of Nursing at Old Dominion University invites qualified candidates to apply for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track nursing faculty position as the Director of Clinical Education and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) graduate nursing program. The start date for the position will be June 10, 2024.
Faculty responsibilities as the Director of Clinical Education in the PMHNP program will include didactic and clinical coordination and instruction in the PMHNP graduate nursing program. Classroom and clinical courses are offered year-round. Additional teaching responsibility for courses in the MSN core at times will round out the faculty member’s workload.
Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities
Recent clinical practice with experience as a nurse practitioner.
Minimum Qualifications - Education or training
An earned doctoral degree in Nursing.
Minimum Qualifications - Special licenses, registration or certification
- Possession or eligibility for Virginia RN and APRN license.
- Certification as a PMHNP Nurse Practitioner.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching in a nursing program.
- Classroom experience and familiarity with online and web-enhanced formats and simulation.
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner experience and licensure.
- Evidence of effective leadership and program or project management.
