Didactic Program Director - Clinical Assistant Professor
The Robert Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work’s mission is to improve health, health equity, and the wellbeing of local, national, and global populations through education, research, and partnerships that are innovative and transformative. The Department of Dietetics and Nutrition is one of eight (8) departments within the Robert Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work. The mission of the Department of Dietetics and Nutrition is to prepare practitioners and applied researchers in dietetics, food, and nutrition to build a healthier society. The Department offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in dietetics and nutrition. The Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND®) accredits two programs within the department, the Didactic Program in Dietetics and the Dietetic Internship.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications/Experience:

Education: Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Clinical Nutrition (DCN), Doctor of Health Sciences (DHSc), or Doctor of Education (EdD) in an appropriate discipline.

Registration and Licensure (required): Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credential and licensure eligible as a dietitian in the State of Florida are required.

Experience: At least three years of post-credentialing experience as a registered dietitian nutritionist is required. Knowledge in dietetics education and university academics. Familiarity with implementing and maintaining accreditation standards/reports.
The director will be responsible for maintaining the accreditation status of the didactic program in dietetics (DPD), coordinating the educational program in dietetics, working with the other program faculty to provide for a quality academic curriculum, instruction and assessment ensuring a productive and challenging classroom experience, and preparing students for the workplace and/or dietetics internship. This will include teaching undergraduate courses in dietetics and nutrition, advising dietetics students, keeping accurate records of student performance and progress; ensuring and maintaining compliance with the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) standards, and participating in department, college, and university committees as assigned.
