University of Central Florida – LECTURER OR CLINICAL ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR – College of Health Professions and Sciences-School of Kinesiology and Physical Therapy
The Division of Physical Therapy within the School of Kinesiology and Physical Therapy (SKPT) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for lecturer or clinical assistant or clinical associate professor. This position is a 12-month, non-tenure track faculty line which can begin as early as January 2021. The successful candidate will be a faculty member in the UCF Division of Physical Therapy with the primary role of gross anatomy instruction and director of the physical therapy gross anatomy laboratory. The candidate will also lead the administration of the Graduate Certificate in Anatomical Sciences. Additional expectations include service and/or scholarly activity as assigned.
The School of Kinesiology and Physical Therapy at UCF resides within the College of Health Professions and Sciences, which is a core component of the newly-formed UCF Academic Health Science Center (AHSC) along with the College of Medicine, and College of Nursing, UCF Health, and UCF Student Health. The AHSC academic and clinical components will be supporting a new partnership to develop a teaching hospital, the UCF Lake Nona Medical Center which will open in 2021.
Physical Therapy (https://healthprofessions.ucf.edu/kpt/physicaltherapy/) possesses a Doctor of Physical Therapy program, a Neurological Residency, clinical practices, and a Graduate Certificate in Anatomical Sciences (https://healthprofessions.ucf.edu/kpt/physicaltherapy/anatomical-sciences/) which possesses a range of graduate students from various basic and applied health sciences. The gross anatomy laboratory is a recently renovated 30’×60’ laboratory facility with a new ventilation system, 12 downdraft tables, high-resolution cameras, and monitors for video capability as well as an Anatomage Virtual Dissection Table (https://healthprofessions.ucf.edu/kpt/physicaltherapy/program-highlights/). With the recently increased capacity and strategic focus on anatomical sciences, numerous opportunities exist for further collaboration with faculty from the UCF College of Medicine and other units from the AHSC for expansion of anatomy instruction and interdisciplinary collaboration for teaching, research, and service.
Partnering units within the SKPT include graduate programs in athletic training, kinesiology, and applied exercise physiology (Ph.D. track), as well as undergraduate degree programs in kinesiology. Faculty and student research opportunities exist within the SKPT Institute of Exercise Physiology and Rehabilitation Science, which possesses numerous basic, applied clinical and community research laboratories (https://healthprofessions.ucf.edu/kpt/institute/).

Advertised Annual Salary: Negotiable
Minimum Qualifications: A doctoral degree in anatomy or closely related field from an accredited institution.
In order to qualify for a clinical assistant or clinical associate professor position, the applicant must have a license in a health-related discipline or extensive faculty experience with a similar rank in a program in a health science-related field.
Preference will be given to applicants who have experience in gross anatomy instruction at the undergraduate or graduate level at a regionally accredited institution, experience in mentorship and/or research with students, have faculty experience in a health-related discipline, expertise in neuroscience, and experience in the operation of a human cadaver laboratory. A desired preference, but not mandatory, is license as a health care provider.
