The Department of Physician Assistant Studies (PAS), College of Health Sciences (CHS) at the University of Kentucky is currently accepting applications for a full-time 12-month appointment, tenure-eligible faculty member at rank determined by qualifications in the Special Title Series, to begin employment at the Lexington or Morehead campus on July 1, 2023.

Qualified candidates should display evidence of excellence in teaching to meet the program mission in both the didactic and/or clinical components of the PAS curriculum. Participation in scholarly activities is expected and supported, along with university service activities. The approximate allocation of effort will be 55-80% instruction and 10-30% scholarship, with the balance in service and professional development. The successful candidate may also participate in clinical practice (up to 20% of effort) to provide direct evidence-based patient care as a licensed PA-C in a clinical setting.
The College of Health Sciences is a strong department that offers educational pathways prior to and after PA school. Qualified candidates would have the opportunities to teach in our undergraduate program, PA residency program and the
CHS Rehabilitation and Health Sciences PhD Program, a multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional Ph.D. program. Additionally, a PA scholar would have the research support to expand their scholarly footprint.
Required Qualifications:
· Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Studies program with a Master’s degree in PA studies or terminal degree in a related medical field
· If a PA, current national certification as a Physician Assistant and eligibility to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky
· Demonstrated multicultural understanding and experience interacting with diverse groups of people
Preferred Qualifications:
· Minimum of three years clinical experience
· Teaching experience in a PA program
· Involvement in service and scholarship relevant to the field of PAS
