Department Summary
Our department is comprised of community-engaged academics providing an education that reaches beyond the classroom. Faculty with expertise in applied gerontology, health services, rehabilitation counseling, substance use, and behavioral health concerns prepare students for a career making a positive change in the lives of others. Alumni of our programs become researchers, educators, administrators, and clinicians.

UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. Position Summary
The Department of Rehabilitation and Health Services in the College of Health and Public Service seeks an outstanding and energetic full-time lecturer with expertise in the field of rehabilitation counseling or related counseling specialties to begin in Fall 2022. This is a non-tenure track, one-year appointment. Teaching responsibilities include graduate and undergraduate level courses such as rehabilitation assessment, counseling, employment and career development, and addiction and disability studies. The candidate selected for this position will be expected to engage in high-quality and innovative instruction in both traditional and non-traditional formats; serve as appropriate on department, college, and university committees as well as participate in professional organizations; and demonstrate a commitment to working in an inclusive environment with students from diverse backgrounds.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates should have earned a doctoral degree in rehabilitation counselor education, counselor education, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program, or have a related doctoral degree before August 1, 2022. Candidates who are ABD will be considered, but the position requires completion of all doctoral requirements by Aug. 31, 2022;
Demonstrated commitment to accessibility and excellence in teaching, and service that supports equity and inclusion for all in the academic community;
Evidence of experience with instructional technology (instructional software, learning management systems such as Canvas) and ability to teach in traditional and non-traditional formats and settings (on-campus, off-campus, evenings, online);
Experience supervising, mentoring, and teaching students in undergraduate and graduate rehabilitation education programs;
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty across disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications
Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, or eligibility to become certified or licensed.
Employment as full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year
