The
Department of Rehabilitation Sciences in the School of Public Health and Health Professions (SPHHP) is inviting applications for a tenure-track, state-funded,
Assistant/Associate Professor in the Physical Therapy Program. Rank of professorship dependent on experience.
The successful candidate will contribute to the research, teaching, scholarship and service mission of the program. Research supported by extramural funding is a primary focus of the position. Duties may also include teaching lecture and laboratory courses; mentoring students, advising students; and contributing to ongoing curriculum quality improvement.
Knowledge of higher education, experience in research, obtaining grant funding, and teaching and mentoring students are essential along with excellent communication skills. Successful applicant is expected to develop and sustain extramurally funded research with strong commitment to teaching, diversity and inclusive excellence. Ample opportunities exist to develop collaborative and translational research projects. Applicants must be eligible for PT licensure in NY, have completed a PhD and have experience as a post-doctoral researcher. This would include post-doctoral training, tenure track faculty or research scientist. Applicants at the Assistant Professor rank must show the potential for successful research and teaching. Applicants at the Associate Professor rank must demonstrate a history of funded research and successful teaching. Successful applicants will receive a start-up package and research space with access to several research core facilities with advanced technologies.
Annual salary commensurate with qualification and rank of appointment.
