JOBSUMMARY: The University of Mississippi Medical Center invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Health Informatics and Information Management Department. This is a 12-month appointment (non-tenure track) at the initial rank of assistant professor. Salary is commensurate with experience. The department offers an upper division two-plus-two baccalaureate program, a master’s program in health informatics and information management, and a post-baccalaureate certificate in health informatics. Classes are offered in an online format.
Doctoral degree (or anticipate imminent completion of a doctoral degree) in health informatics, information science, management information systems, or a related program.
Expertise in data analytics, statistics, data mining, electronic health records, and system design and development.
Teaching baccalaureate and master’s level courses in health informatics and information management.
Participation in departmental, school, and Medical Center committees, student advisement, and research activities.
Health Informatics and Information Management is one of seven departments in the School of Health Related Professions. The School is one of seven schools, including Dentistry, Graduate Studies, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Population Health located on the campus of the University of Mississippi Medical Center, a major health sciences campus located in the state capitol of Jackson, with an area population of more than 500,000. The medical center campus provides a collegial atmosphere with opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.
