The Department of Community Health in the School of Arts and Sciences (A&S) at Tufts University invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Lecturer, with a focus on applied biostatistics and quantitative epidemiology, to start in Fall of 2023. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong teaching expertise who can teach introductory biostatistics, principles of epidemiology, and more advanced quantitative methods courses, as well as Introduction to Community Health. The position entails teaching three courses or the equivalent in the fall, three courses or the equivalent in the spring, advising undergraduate students, and performing service for the Department and School. This is a 9-month position (September 1 through May 31) paid over 12 months. This position is for a two-year initial contract with possibility of renewal.  Upon joining our faculty, the successful candidate will be a member of the Full-Time Lecturer Bargaining Unit in the School of Arts and Sciences (Service Employees International Union Local 509).

Qualifications

Candidates should expect to hold a doctoral degree in public health or a related field by the start of employment. University level teaching experience with undergraduates is required. A successful candidate will also demonstrate a clear commitment to teaching and mentoring excellence at the undergraduate level, working with a diverse student population, and fostering creative and independent thinking among students and mentees.
