The Department of Occupational Therapy at Boston University is seeking candidates for the position of Program Director for our top-ranked EL-OTD program. The Program Director provides strategic leadership and program administration, facilitates on-going program review and curriculum development, mentors clinical faculty and collaborates with the Department Chair in managing program resources. In addition, the Program Director has some teaching responsibilities in their area of expertise and is expected to maintain an active program of scholarship. The appointment will be at the rank of Clinical Associate or Clinical Professor, as appropriate.
The Department of Occupational Therapy is part of a vibrant academic and research community that includes the College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, other academic units of Boston University, and the metro Boston area. In addition to the EL-OTD program, we offer an undergraduate program in Behavior and Health, a post-professional OTD program via distance education, and we participate in the interdisciplinary PhD program in Rehabilitation Sciences. Candidates must have an earned doctoral degree, current certification as an occupational therapist, and eligibility for Massachusetts licensure. The program director must have a minimum of 8 years of documented experience in the field of occupational therapy, which must include clinical practice as an occupational therapist, administrative experience including, but not limited to, program planning and implementation, personnel management, evaluation, and budgeting, and at least 3 years of experience in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the post-baccalaureate level. The appointment begins in Fall 2020, for a term of 3 years, renewable. This is a 9-month appointment with additional summer salary.
