The School of Nursing at Old Dominion University invites qualified candidates to apply for a full-time, 12month, non-tenure-track nursing faculty position in the undergraduate nursing program. Our School is searching for a faculty member who will share and contribute to our mission to transform healthcare by preparing exceptional nurses, extending nursing science and partnering with our global community. The start date for the position will be June 10, 2024.
Faculty responsibilities will include didactic and clinical instruction in settings for pre-licensure BSN students. Classroom and clinical courses are offered year-round. Online instruction for post-licensure BSN students as well as additional teaching responsibility for lab and clinical courses will round out the faculty member’s workload.
Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities
Recent clinical practice with expertise in nursing.
Minimum Qualifications - Education or training
An earned Master’s degree in Nursing.
Minimum Qualifications - Special licenses, registration or certification
Eligibility for Virginia Registered Nurse license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching in a baccalaureate nursing program.
- Experience or knowledge of psychiatric mental health nursing.
- Classroom experience and familiarity with online/web-enhanced formats and simulation.
- Professional certification in a specialty area
- Current enrollment in or completion of D.N.P. or Ph.D. degree.
