The Food Science Department, College of Food and Agriculture at the United Arab Emirates University, invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in Food Safety at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor with primary research and secondary teaching responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES The successful candidate must develop a competitive and internationally visible research program in food safety/hygiene with due emphasis on microbiological and toxicological safety. Impact of the latter on food quality, food preservation and public health are aspects of interest within the food safety perspective. Close interaction with stakeholders and industry and collaboration with national/regional organization is expected. High quality original research publications from the conducted research work in reputed international journals is an expectation. The successful candidate must develop and teach graduate and undergraduate courses, including but not limited to, Food safety risk assessment, Epidemiology of Foodborne Illness, HACCP, Food safety management systems, and related courses, and supervise undergraduate/graduate students and research trainees.
