Coordinate all administrative functions of the pre-licensure undergraduate nursing program, to include implementing program priorities, providing program knowledge and expertise related to the nursing education field, managing resources and coordinating external clinical placement for students.
Duties and Responsibilities (generally)
The Nursing Pre-Licensure Coordinator is a permanent 10.5-month full time Civil Service (CS) position. The Coordinator is an academic administrator who assists the Director of the Undergraduate Nursing Program with general administration of the pre-licensure undergraduate nursing program. The responsibilities of the Coordinator include, but are not limited to, implementing program priorities, providing program knowledge and expertise related to the nursing education field, management of resources, coordinating clinical opportunities with external agencies and overseeing clinical compliance of nursing students. This individual is evaluated by the Director of the Undergraduate Nursing Program.
The academic programs in nursing include the baccalaureate nursing program, which has a pre-licensure option and Registered Nurse (RN) to Bachelor of Science (BS) option.
Minimum Required Qualifications for this position
1. Bachelor’s degree
2. Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois, or eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois
3. One year of professional work experience in a higher education setting or as a nurse educator/nurse administrator in a clinical setting
