The University at Buffalo Physiology and Biophysics Department has an exciting opportunity for two Postdoctoral Associate positions in the Neuroscience field available in the https://medicine.buffalo.edu/faculty/profile.html?ubit=zhenyanlaboratory of SUNY Distinguished Professor Zhen Yan, Ph.D. (Department of Physiology and Biophysics, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, State University of New York at Buffalo UB).
The research goal is to understand the epigenetic and synaptic mechanisms of a variety of brain disorders, including:
* Alzheimer’s disease and stress-associated mental illnesses.
* Transgenic mouse models, human postmortem tissues, and human stem cell-derived neurons are used to uncover pathophysiological basis and treatment strategies for these CNS diseases.
* A combination of cutting-edge biochemical, molecular biological, electrophysiological, chemogenetic, optogenetic, transcriptomic and behavioral approaches are used in their research.
