The Department of Community Health Sciences at the Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH) is seeking applicants to join our vibrant body of faculty researchers and educators. This is an open rank recruitment of senior and junior faculty candidates. Successful candidate will have an established track record of, or potential for, imminent external funding for research, and a deep commitment to teaching graduate students.

Currently, the Department of Community Health Sciences has 18 primary faculty members who teach and mentor students in master and doctoral programs. Faculty members conduct research supported by NIH, CDC, RWJF and other public and private sources in maternal and child health, substance use, risk communication, health policies, health equity, racism and health, LGBT health, violence, and other areas. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise and interest in community-engaged/community-based participatory research, multi-method research, social justice-oriented research, maternal and child health, needs assessment and intervention development, health communications, evaluation, implementation science, public health policy, practice-relevant research, and great potential to teach in these areas and collaborate with and complement current faculty on research.
Candidates should have a relevant doctoral degree, demonstrated commitment to graduate education and mentorship of students, outstanding scholarship as evidenced by publication, and should have-or have great potential for garnering-externally funded research. They will be expected to lead an independent research agenda, actively participate in collaborative research within the department, BUSPH, and beyond; participate in teaching and mentoring master- and doctoral-level students; be an active engaged citizen of our academic community; and provide service to the profession.
