This is a two-to-three-year position with the School of Public Health & Health Professions and the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University at Buffalo. It principally entails the development of computational algorithms with strong statistical and mathematical foundations, and the development of machine learning algorithms to study post-marketing surveillance problems and safety aspects of medical products during their development.

Additional components of the research include addressing methodological issues associated with the analysis of large observational data sets, and software development. Collaborative opportunities under the guidance of the PI, with relevant governmental and industrial partners, potentially leading to future career opportunities exist. Presentation of scientific results in conferences is required.
The primary focus of the position is to contribute to the aforementioned research agenda; the position does not carry teaching or committee responsibilities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Development of statistical/computational/machine learning (ML) methods for the analysis of biomedical big data and electronic health record data
* Development of statistical/computational/ML methods for pharmacovigilance
* Software development
* Publications in statistical/informatics/ML journals and conferences is a requirement
