The Department of Nutritional Sciences at Texas Christian University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) beginning August 2022. We are seeking to expand our strengths in undergraduate and graduate curriculum development, collaborative and interdisciplinary research, leadership and service.

The tenure-track Assistant Professor will hold an earned doctorate or terminal degree in nutrition/food/dietetics. The position requires a minimum of three years as a Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, with ongoing maintenance of registration, and eligibility for licensure in Texas. Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is required. Candidates should be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching, research, and service. The Department is particularly interested in candidates who complement existing teaching and research expertise. The preferred candidate will have knowledge in integrative and functional nutrition, nutritional genomics, research methods, experimental food science and culinary medicine.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the Department of Nutritional Sciences (specifically Experimental Food Science, Integrative Functional Nutrition and Nutritional Genomics, Research Methods in Nutrition, Culinary Medicine and other courses as needed); Conduct, present and publish academic research; Mentor students in research endeavors; Develop curriculum; Serve on committees both internal and external to the University; Participate in processes to maintain dietetic education accreditation; Serve as a team member to positively impact visibility of Department of Nutritional Sciences; Provide academic advising; Engage in professional development.
